What started as a highly specialised mobile service has rapidly evolved into one of the most trusted independent garages in Ayrshire. We didn't build Mechtronics by cutting corners or churning out low-quality repairs; we built it by solving the complex problems that other garages couldn't.

Our Story: From Car Keys to Complex Clutches

Mechtronics began its life strictly focusing on auto electrics and replacement car keys. Because modern cars are essentially computers on wheels, our foundational expertise in complex electrical fault-finding quickly set us apart.

As demand for our diagnostic skills grew, we expanded into a full-blown mechanical garage with a core team of three. It didn’t take long for us to outgrow our original footprint. We took over the office next door to build a dedicated reception area and, in true family-business fashion, roped a family member out of their early retirement to run the front desk and look after our customers!

As our reputation for doing things right spread, so did our workload. We brought on another full-time mechanic and an additional reception team member, allowing us to expand heavily into manual clutch replacements, dual-mass flywheels, and comprehensive general mechanical repairs.

The Next Level: Automatics & Bigger Premises

Over the past year, we have taken our biggest leap yet. Recognising a massive local need for an alternative to eye-watering main dealer prices, we invested heavily in the factory tooling and software required to master complex automatic transmissions—including DSG, S-Tronic, and Powershift dual-clutch systems.

To support this highly specialised work, we hired three more expert staff members and officially moved into significantly larger premises.

Today, Mechtronics is a multi-bay, multi-specialist operation. But no matter how much we grow, our original foundation remains completely unchanged: we will always prioritise fast turnarounds, fair pricing, and doing everything in our power to accommodate short-notice emergency bookings.

The Mechtronics Standard: We Don't Cut Corners

When you bring your vehicle to our specialist clutch workshop, you can guarantee three things:

• Quality OEM Parts Only: We strictly fit original equipment manufacturer parts from trusted brands like LUK, Sachs, and Valeo. We will never install cheap, unbranded friction plates that will burn out in a matter of months.

• No False Economy Conversions: We actively protect your gearbox. We do not perform Solid Flywheel conversions on modern vans and cars, as this transfers violent engine vibrations directly into the transmission. We stick to heavy-duty, factory-spec Dual-Mass Flywheels (DMFs).

• The Complete Job: We never leave old hydraulic components inside a hard-working gearbox. Whenever we remove a manual transmission, we always replace the Concentric Slave Cylinder (CSC) as standard. It ensures your hydraulic system is bulletproof and saves you from paying for the same massive labour bill twice.
